Located in an inner-city community, Steps is a 122-unit development consisting of four six-storey buildings connected with an internal courtyard. The building acts as a bookend to the south of a park, and is located within walking and transit distance to downtown office and commercial areas. Additionally, there are numerous services and amenities in close proximity providing the opportunity for a healthy and less auto-dependent lifestyle for residents.

The development is organized to maximize solar exposure and views, while maintaining the integrity of the street. Apartments above the townhouses create an urban edge to the street and establish a safe public space. To maximize green space, parking is below-grade, and is accessed from the internal courtyard. A screened louvered loggia acts as the connective tissue bonding the four buildings into one unified development.
