This 60-room luxury resort hotel overlooks Lake Chuzenji in Nikko, Japan, two hours north of Tokyo. The client requested a Western log structure, but it was important to respect the remarkable local architecture of the area, resulting in a building that appears Western to Japanese guests, and Eastern to foreign visitors.
Designed as a long, spine-like building, all rooms face the spectacular view of Lake Chuzenji.
